This is my favorite homemade coleslaw recipe. It's fast and simple to prepare and tastes delicious. I let it sit overnight for best results.

Ingredients

package coleslaw mix

onion
minced

white sugar
1/4
tsp
salt
1/8
tsp
fresh ground black pepper
1/4
cup
buttermilk
1/4
cup
mayonnaise
1 1/2
tsp
white vinegar

tbsp
lemon juice
Instructions
In a large bowl combine sugar, salt, pepper, milk, buttermilk, mayonnaise, white vinegar, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth
Add in the coleslaw mix and minced onion; mix well
Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving or overnight
Notes
Substitute premade coleslaw mix for chopped or diced cabbage along with shredded carrots to equal about 4 1/2 cups if desired.
