Coleslaw
This is my favorite homemade coleslaw recipe. It's fast and simple to prepare and tastes delicious. I let it sit overnight for best results.

Ingredients
- 1 16 oz package coleslaw mix
- 1 tbsp onion minced
- 2 1/2 tbsp white sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine sugar, salt, pepper, milk, buttermilk, mayonnaise, white vinegar, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth
- Add in the coleslaw mix and minced onion; mix well
- Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving or overnight
Notes
Substitute premade coleslaw mix for chopped or diced cabbage along with shredded carrots to equal about 4 1/2 cups if desired.
