Chocolate Trifle

This is a perfect desert to serve at parties or potlucks. People will be lined up to get some of this delicious trifle but no one will know how simple and fast it was make! For best results use your own homemade brownie mix.

Ingredients

  • 1 18.4 oz package chocolate brownie mix may use your own chocolate brownie mix enough for 8×8 inch pan
  • 1 3.9 oz package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream divided
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare brownie mix according to package or prepare own recipe. Cool completely and cut into 1 inch squares
  • In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water, and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth and set aside
  • In a separate bowl using electric hand mixer or stand mixer with whisk attachment, whip 1 cup heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Fold in whipped topping into pudding mixture until no streaks remain
  • In a large bowl using electric hand mixer or stand mixer with whisk attachment, whip remaining 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, white sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • In a trifle bowl or large glass bowl, place half the brownies, then half the pudding mixture, and then half the whipped topping. Repeat layers. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight before serving for best results

Notes

You can substitute ingredients to suit your taste using this recipe.  Add caramel and/or heath toffee bits to each layer for extra richness.  Instead of chocolate, use blonde brownies and vanilla pudding.
