Garlic Butter Croutons

No need to buy croutons in the store anymore! Just mix up a few ingredients, place on a baking sheet, and you have delicious, simple, homemade garlic butter croutons! These are delicious in French Onion Soup and salads. Store cooled croutons at room temperature in a freezer storage bag for a few days. Make a double batch and freeze them in a freezer storage bag or container, let them thaw on the counter for 15 minutes and place them under the broiler for a couple minutes to crisp up.

Ingredients

  • 1 small French or sourdough bread/baguette cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt
  • Place the bread cubes in a large bowl and pour the butter mixture over top. Toss until bread is evenly coated with butter mixture
  • Place on baking sheet in one layer and bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oven and cool completely. Store in freezer storage bag or airtight container
