Ingredients

  • 6 large granny smith apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter softened

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Arrange sliced apples in 9×13 inch pan. In a small bowl, mix together white sugar, 1 tbsp flour, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg; sprinkle over apples. Pour water evenly over apple mixture and mix well
  • In a large bowl, combine oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Cut in softened butter using pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle topping evenly over apple mixture
  • Bake for 45 minutes. Cool slightly before serving
